Frequently asked questions
Is DueShot free to use? โ–ผ
Yes โ€” completely free for one child. The full vaccination schedule, all vaccine descriptions, govt vs private information, painless vs painful guidance, missed vaccine help, and family share link are all free forever. A premium plan at โ‚น199/year is available for parents with multiple children who want additional features like partner sharing, expense tracking, and Google Drive backup.
Is this schedule approved by doctors? โ–ผ
DueShot is based on the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) ACVIP 2023 vaccination schedule โ€” the same schedule that pediatricians across India follow. We do not create our own schedule. We simply make the official IAP schedule easy to understand and track. Always consult your own pediatrician for personalised advice.
Do I need to create an account or login? โ–ผ
No. DueShot V1 requires zero login. Just enter your baby's date of birth and get the full schedule instantly. Your data never leaves your device โ€” we do not store any personal information on our servers.
What is the difference between DTwP and DTaP? โ–ผ
Both protect against the same three diseases โ€” Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis (whooping cough). DTwP uses a whole-cell pertussis component and is the standard vaccine available free at government centres. It can cause more fever and irritability after the shot. DTaP uses an acellular pertussis component โ€” it is called the "painless" vaccine and causes significantly less fever and crying. Both give equal protection. DTaP is available only at private clinics and costs more.
My baby missed a vaccine. What do I do? โ–ผ
Do not panic โ€” it is almost never too late. Most vaccines can be given as a catch-up. Enter your baby's date of birth in DueShot and any overdue vaccines will be clearly flagged with catch-up guidance. Visit your pediatrician as soon as possible and carry your baby's previous vaccination card. Partial immunity is better than none, but completing the schedule is important.
Which vaccines are free at government hospitals? โ–ผ
Under India's Universal Immunisation Programme (UIP), the following vaccines are available free at all government hospitals and PHCs: BCG, Hepatitis B, OPV, IPV, Pentavalent (DTP+Hib+HepB), Rotavirus, PCV, MMR, Measles, TT/Td, and Typhoid (TCV). In DueShot, every vaccine is clearly marked "Free at govt centre" or "Private clinic only" so you always know before your visit.
Who made DueShot? โ–ผ
DueShot was built by an independent team that believes every Indian parent deserves clear, simple, and trustworthy health information. We are not affiliated with any hospital, pharmaceutical company, or vaccine manufacturer. We have no financial interest in which vaccines you choose or where you get them.
